Antrim & Newtownabbey Brown Bin Contract Award

Avenue Recycling Ltd are delighted to announce we have been awarded a 7 year contract with Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council to service brown bins, from approximately 59,500 households in the Borough.

We have purchased 6 x new 26 tonne Mercedes Econic Bin Lorries which we will take delivery of in December 2023.

We would like to thank all our staff for their continued commitment to the company and look forward to working together for the next 7 years

Avenue Recycling Ltd. are proud to, once again, partner with Market Place Europe in the hosting of Belfast’s famous Continental Christmas Market at City Hall.  Avenue have been providing comprehensive waste management and recycling services to the Christmas Market since 2010.

The Belfast Christmas Market is a festive family favourite, with so many great things to see, eat, drink, and do.  Family attractions at the Christmas Markets include a traditional carousel, snow globe and Santa’s Grotto, ensuring there is something for all the family.

Through the dark days of winter, Christmas Markets inject a blaze of heart-warming colour and festive cheer into towns and cities. They take shoppers on a gastronomic journey around the globe.

Festive favourites include crepes from France, Belgian chocolates and an exotic selection of ostrich, wild boar and crocodile burgers, giant bratwurst, Spanish paella, and nougat from Italy. All this alongside the very best in local food arts and crafts.

Handmade gifts carefully crafted by traders from around the world are showcased seven days a week in the lead up to Christmas.

There are over 100 Chalets representing 30 countries including local food producers along with two continental bars.

This event attracts over 1 million visitors over the 5 weeks, leading up to Christmas. The market opens on Saturday 19^th November

Avenue Recycling Ltd. are integral to the smooth running of this hugely popular annual event.  In conjunction with the management team of Market Place Europe, it’s our responsibility to ensure the market is run in an environmentally sustainable way.

The Christmas Continental Market produces in excess of 120 tonnes of waste every year.

We provide a complete waste management service for all traders and public generated wastes.

• Avenue Recycling manage the recycling and diversion of various waste streams to include the following wastes:

• Wood
• Food
• Mixed dry recyclables
• Cooking oil
• Kitchen wastewater

• In 2021 the Christmas market produced 128.6 tonnes of waste of which over 89% was diverted from landfill and only just over 10% was sent to landfill.

Avenue Recycling Ltd. are proud to unveil our new fleet of DAF hook loaders.

These vehicles have been purchased from TBF Thompson Ltd. primarily to service our contracts with Belfast City Council, Lisburn & Castlereagh Council, and Antrim & Newtownabbey Borough Council, as well as providing roll on/off skip services to many of our customers in the private sector.

These brand new vehicles represent a significant investment by Avenue Recycling Ltd. in the future and growth of our company, and are an exciting update to our already significant fleet of vehicles which service the recycling industry throughout Northern Ireland.
