Avenue Recycling Ltd. operates two fully licensed waste facilities, one located in the city centre and the second, larger of the two sites, in the west of the city.  Both sites are licensed to receive hazardous and non-hazardous waste.  Avenue Recycling also holds accreditation with the Northern Ireland Environment Agency (NIEA) as a fully licensed Approved Authorised Treatment Facility (AATF).

Avenue Recycling Ltd. is an established company which has been operating in the Belfast area for over 40 years. The company originated as a Metal Merchant Yard and has since progressed into other areas within the recycling, waste management and environmental sectors.

1977

Metal Merchant Yard

Avenue Metals first opened its doors. Mal began work here at the tender age of 14.

1999

Mal Takes Over

Revamped and re-branded, Mal opened the metal merchant yard for the first time, as the proud new owner of Avenue Metal Recycling.

2003

Avenue Recycling Ltd.

Avenue Recycling Ltd, Mal’s new expansion into the wider recycling industry, opened its doors. We could never have imagined the success and growth our company would experience in such a small number of years. Avenue Recycling established itself as a well-recognised and reputable company, operating out of a fully licensed 25,000 sq.ft. waste management premises located on the Ballygomartin Road in Belfast. Now employing over 50 staff from the local community, Avenue Recycling Ltd. delivers waste management services to Councils throughout Northern Ireland, the education Authority, Health Boards, film sets and many private businesses throughout Northern Ireland.

We are prepared to grow with the times and the ever increasing demand for recycling services.  We are proud to be Northern Ireland’s leading company in the recycling of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), and are keen to promote the development and expansion of the circular economy.
